Sindh Assembly prorogued after long session

The Sindh Assembly was prorogued on Friday after a long session.

According to details, the Sindh Assembly met in old assembly house with Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in the chair.

Leader of the opposition was present while the leader of the house was absent. A privilege motion and an adjournment motion raised by MQM lawmaker Sabir Hussain were termed out of order by the chair on which MQM members protested mildly. The consideration of a bill was on the agenda but it was not taken by the House.

Later, the speaker read out the message of Sindh governor to prorogue the House. Earlier, the Sindh Assembly appreciated the liver transplant facility in Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences Gims.

Senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro congratulated the House on inauguration of liver transplant facility in the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (Gims) at Gambat district Khairpur. He said this was the first liver transplant facility in any government sector hospital of Karachi.

Health Minister Mehtab Hussain Dahar (PPPP), Mehtab Akbar Rashdi (PML-F), Sardar Ahmed (MQM), Sorath Thebo (PML-N), Nusrat Bano Seher Abbasi (PML-F), Kulsoom Chandio (PPPP), Manzoor Hussain Wassan (PPPP), Nand Kumar (PML-F), Mahesh Malani (PPPP) and Khawaja Iazharul Hassan (MQM) also congratulated on the inauguration of liver transplant facility in the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (Gims) at Gambat district Khairpur. They also mentioned some other related issues including the matter of the name of the institute, availability of doctors and medicines and overall situation of the government hospitals in Sindh in their point of orders. Senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and Health Minister Mehtab Hussain Dahar gave answers to the questions raised by the members in these ‘point of orders’.
