PCB urges nation to concentrate on Qadri, Mustafa Kamal instead

Lahore — Our Blame Others Correspondent: Speaking at a press conference, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Sheheryar Khan urged the nation to concentrate on the hanging of Mumtaz Qadri and the explosive conference of Mustafa Kamal.

“The implications of the execution of Mumtaz Qadri can be discussed endlessly,” said Khan. “Should we talk about how the death penalty isn’t really a deterrent, specially for those indoctrinated by religious zealots but it is meant to communicate to the law-abiding people instead that the writ of state still exists?”

“Yes, could we talk about that,” said Shahid Afridi, captain of the national T20 squad. “I don’t know about you, but it sounds like a fascinating topic.”

“Also, something that we need to take apart is the Mustafa Kamal press conference,” said Najam Sethi, Chair of the PCB Executive Committee. “RAW allegations are dubious, brought up by the establishment against everyone; the real issue is the fascist nature of the MQM, of which the former Nazim cannot be absolved at all.”

“He didn’t even answer a question about the 12th of May, 2007, when he himself was the Nazim. How cowardly for someone not to answer a probing question,” he said, in response to a question about the national team’s poor performance in the Asia Cup.
