The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Housing and Works on Thursday directed officials concerned to retrieve government accommodations from illegal occupants.
The committee met under the chairmanship of MNA Akram Ansari at Parliament Lodges.
The committee expressed grave concern over the issue of illegal occupants of government accommodations and directed that Ministry of Housing and Works would take stringent measures to vacate government accommodations from illegal occupants at the earliest.
The committee directed the ministry to take stern action against estate office employees who support illegal occupants through different means and to report to the committee in its next meeting.
The committee agreed in principle with the views of the federal minister for housing and works that estate office could not handle the issue of illegal occupants lonely until the powers of magistrate be re-delegated to estate officer withdrawn in 2012. The committee decided to take up the issue at an appropriate forum.
The committee discussed the projects of Dualization & Improvement of Mandra-Chakwal Road, Sohawa-Chakwal Road and Mosa Khail Tounsa Road Strength Road Zhob and directed that Ministry of Housing and Works may direct the quarters concerned to take effective measures to complete the projects at the earliest.
