Retail milk price fixed at Rs 80 per liter

The city administration Thursday announced to fix retail milk price at Rs 80 per liter and decided to implement it effectively.

Karachi Commissioner Syed Asif Haider Shah announced this in presence of representatives of Dairy Farmers Association, Milk Wholesalers Association and Milk Retailers’ Association and media men, said a statement issued on Thursday.

He said the milk price would also be implemented at the levels of dairy farmers and wholesalers. The city administration has announced that no one would be allowed to sell milk in violation to the notified prices. The milk price at farmer level has been fixed at Rs 70 per liter, wholesale level at Rs 75.35 per liter, while retail price has been fixed at Rs 80 per liter.

The commissioner has also issued notification in this regard. The representatives of milk wholesalers, dairy farmers and retailers associations have also assured to cooperate with the administration in this regard. Among others Additional Commissioner Aslam Khoso and deputy commissioners concerned were also present.
