The ministry of religious affairs and inter-faith harmony has started finalising draft hajj policy 2016 following the inking of an agreement with Saudi Arabia last month.
Official sources in the ministry of religious affairs and interfaith harmony told APP that the draft policy would be sent to federal cabinet for final approval within a fortnight.
The hajj policy would be announced after getting cabinet’s approval, he said adding that 1,43,000 people would perform hajj this year including 50 per cent through government and the same through private scheme. Hajj facilities being offered to Pakistani pilgrims were not only inexpensive but also better as compared to other Islamic countries including Iran, Turkey and Indonesia, he concluded.
