Provincial Labour Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar on Tuesday said that officials of a Chinese company will soon visit Lahore to finalise the matters regarding the construction of a Theme Park.
He said this while presiding over a high-level meeting to review the progress on the matters relating to the Theme Park.
Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Khawaja, Punjab Board of Investment & Trade Chairman Abdul Basit, Tourism Secretary Humayun Mehr Sheikh, PHA DG Mian Shakeel Ahmed, Director Law and officers of other concern department attended the meeting.
Raja directed the concerned officers to immediately settle all the matters for starting the construction of the theme park at the earliest.
The meeting was told that acquisition of land and other administrative and legal matters relating to the Park were being given final shape. Theme Park, water park, aquarium, residential facilities and other commercial activities will be included in this project, which, once completed, will be at par with international standards. The park will be set up on the pattern of Disney Land. A Chinese company will make the entire investment on the project and the Punjab government will provide the accompanying facilities.
The meeting was briefed that not only would the recreational facilities be of international standard, a lot of job opportunities will also be created for local youth through this project.
