Sexual harassment against women

I am student. I cover myself properly but still I face sexual harassment on a regular basis. For girls, it is very difficult to walk from home to the bus stop, wait for bus, board it, and then complete their commute, step off the bus and then walk to their colleges or offices. It has become a hellish experience every day. Boys follow them, tease them, try to touch them, cat call them all along the way, among other forms of harassment.

What most people don’t understand is the fact that pardah, haya or whatever you call it is not just for women but it’s for men as well. There are many examples in Islamic history where men have proven to be a stricter follower of pardah or haya.

  1. Sana Gyl is absolute right that pardah and haya are for both men and women. The Pakistan society have hundred and one faces and that is because of having zero "Tabeeyyat". Society must do something to provide security for our Sisters and Daughters to go schools and universities without fear of teasing and harassment.

  2. This is what your electronic medium has done to this society with full cooperation from an incompetent Minister for Information, PEMRA, your irresponsible parents and a thoroughly corrupted culture. What have you done about it ? Don’t expect others to do it for you.
