Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani on Tuesday stalled a resolution to pay tribute to Oscar winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, saying several other Pakistani women who made sacrifices against honour killing should all be included.
Rabbani said not just Chinoy, but several other Pakistani women have made sacrifices for the sake of women’s rights in the country. He asked the lawmakers to present an amended draft, including names of other activists, during the house’s next session.
