Premier Nawaz Sharif will likely meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Tashkent this year to remove hurdles impeding bilateral trade between their two countries, said Ambassador of the Russian Federation.
Addressing a meeting hosted in his honour by local business leaders in Faisalabad the other day, Ambassador of the Russian Federation Alexey Y Dedov announced the meeting between the two leaders as Pakistan and Russia usher in new era of cooperation.
Dedov stressed serious efforts to capitalise on trade opportunities as bilateral trade between Pakistan and Russia is far below their huge potential.
“The Russian government is making sincere efforts to promote social, cultural and people-to-people contacts with Pakistan,” he said, saying that it will ultimately provide a strong foundation for enhanced business opportunities between the two states.
