An unidentified woman abducted a two-day old newborn girl and fled from the labour ward of Jinnah Hospital. Police has obtained the CCTV footage of the incident and started an investigation into the matter.
According to the details, Shazia, a resident of Raiwind, had given birth to the girl two days ago. Moreover, the baby’s grandmother stated that she had gone for some important work and handed over the baby to a woman sitting on a bed near her, but after returning back neither the woman nor the baby could be found.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Model Town stated that the newborn baby was kidnapped due to the carelessness of the family. He stated that a hunt for the kidnapper of the newborn was underway with help of the CCTV footage.
