Home minister praises COAS for restoring peace in city

Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal said on Tuesday that all credit went to Army Chief General Raheel Sharif for restoring peace in Karachi.

While briefing media after apex committee meeting at DIGP office, he said that terrorists came from Mastung area of Balochistan who were involved in Jacobabad bomb blast due to which they had decided to restore border security force so that they may not enter from other provinces into Sindh.

He further added that border force would be deployed on Kambar-Shahdadkot and Kashmore districts’ borders where pickets would also be established and all people would be physically checked. He also said the Karachi operation was started with the consent of all stakeholders in which Pak Army, Rangers and police were taking part with joint coordination.

He negated the perception that PPP or Sindh government was against the operation, adding that they were completely against terrorism which had claimed precious lives of the great leader Benazir Bhutto. Siyal also denied the allegations that Sindh government was interfering in the inquiries being conducted against Dr Asim.

Talking about the on-going operation, he said that Shikarpur operation would be further intensified and many no-go areas in the katcha area had been eliminated where police stations and pickets had been established due to which criminals had gone behind. Siyal further said he had no confirmed reports whether three or four bandits had been killed in the Shikarpur operation. He further added that Market Police Station of Larkana would be made a model police station where a facilitation center would also be established.

He also said that many new districts had no police headquarters which too will be constructed in Kambar-Shahdadkot, Matiari, Kandhkot, Tando Allahyar and Tando Muhammad Khan and development schemes will also be initiated through ADP. IGP Ghulam Hyder Jamali said that JIT of Uzair Baloch had almost been completed and when it would be made public action would be taken according to law. The additional home secretary, AIG Finance Sultan Khawaja, DIGs and SSPs of various districts attended the meeting.
