Islamabad Bar calls Qadri’s execution ‘judicial murder’

The Islamabad Bar Association has announced to observe strike and not attend courts against execution of Mumtaz Qadri, killer of governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer.

According to a notification issued by IBA, “All respected members are hereby informed that on call of Islamabad Bar Association, a strike and Black Day is being observed against judicial murder of Mumtaz Qadri. No lawyer will turn up at the court and observe complete strike.”

The authorities today the killer of Punjab’s former Governor Salmaan Taseer in Adiala Jail of Rawalpindi.

“I can confirm that Qadri was hanged in Adialia jail early Monday morning,” senior local police official Sajjid Gondal said.

A prison official confirmed the execution of Qadri, a former police bodyguard who killed Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer in 2011, who was seeking reforms in Pakistan’s blasphemy law.
