The military has assured the government on Saturday that the number of troops committed for monitoring population census will be reviewed, rekindling hope that the much awaited census can begin despite the delay.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar called on both the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) to discuss the matter.
“The minister directed the PBS to chalk out a revised action plan for holding the census, incorporating the changes discussed in the meeting, in consultation with other stakeholders,” said a statement released afterwards
