Chaudhry Sher Ali, father of state minister Abid Sher Ali, on Saturday accused officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of receiving several millions in bribe.

Talking to a group of reporters in Multan, Sher Ali said the anti-graft body was not a ‘holy cow’ accusing its officials of receiving millions in bribe.

As rumors spread of a case against Sher Ali being taken up by the NAB, State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali also broke his silence saying the case against his father was registered in Musharraf’s reign and was ‘politically-motivated’.

Political circles in Punjab seem to be panicked after the NAB initiated inquiries in the province. A couple of days ago, Opposition Leader in National Assembly (NA) Khursheed Shah also made a sarcastic comment saying, “Politicians in Punjab are free of all sins, what has NAB gone there for.”
