President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday urged the people to socially boycott corrupt elements for ridding the country of corruption and malpractices.
Addressing participants of a medical conference jointly organised by the Royal College of Physicians UK and Azra Naheed Medical College here, the president stressed the medical practitioners to step forward and wage war against corruption and dishonesty with an aim to purge society of evils.
Terming the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) a game changer, Mamnoon said the project would change fate of the people of Pakistan. He also asked the people to avoid thinking negative about Pakistan, saying the country was moving on the right track to become prosperous. He said besides the CPEC, the government had initiated a number of mega projects across the country that would not only resolve the longstanding energy crisis but also create new opportunities of employment.
The president said the prevalence of polio was due to conflicts in the region and the international community should cooperate with Pakistan in overcoming this disease instead of imposing punitive restrictions. He urged the international community to adopt sympathetic attitude to enable Pakistan to completely eradicate polio.
Mamnoon advised doctors to follow ethics and golden principles of their noble profession and serve the humanity with devotion. He said the international medical conference would be instrumental in promoting research in the field of medicine and would also provide an opportunity for interaction and exchange of views between Pakistani doctors, Royal College of Physicians and other eminent institutions.
