Aleksander Aamodt Kilde claimed his first FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup super-G victory in Hinterstoder on Saturday.

The Norwegian secured a maiden World Cup win in the downhill in Garmisch Partenkirchen last month and was on top of the podium once again in Austria.

Kilde was fourth in the previous super-G race in Jeongseon, but scaled new heights by clocking one minute 29.89 seconds on the Hannes Trinkl course to finish ahead of Bostjan Kline and overall leader Marcel Hirscher.

Kline, also runner-up Kilde in the Garmisch Partenkirchen downhill, was 0.24 seconds back in second and Hirscher 0.35 seconds slower.

Kilde’s victory means he is now second in the super-G standings, just 25 points behind leader Aksel Lund Svindal – who is out for the season due to a knee injury.

Hirscher now leads nearest rival Henrik Kristoffersen by 263 points in his quest for a fifth successive overall title.
