An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday indicted two workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) including Ubaid K2 in different cases of possessing explosives.

The ATC heard the cases at Central Jail Complex. After hearing arguments from both the sides, the court indicted the MQM workers. The court also issued notices to investigation officers and witnesses ordering them to ensure their presence on next date of hearing. Ubaid K2, however, pleaded not guilty. He was arrested by Rangers on March 11, 2015, from Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s headquarters Nine-Zero during a search operation.

A case was registered against the culprit at Gulberg Police Station for possession of explosives. During investigation, Ubaid had reportedly revealed that Deputy Superintendent Jail Amanullah Niazi was murdered for allegedly refusing to facilitate disenchanted MQM worker Saulat Mirza. Mirza was later hanged in Machh Jail after he was convicted in a triple murder case. Another MQM worker, Abdul Qadir Hingoro was also indicted. He was apprehended by law enforcers from Garden area for possessing explosives.
