The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued a show cause notice to Managing Director (MD) Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) on a petition of, contempt of court, filed by Capital Development Authority (CDA) regarding non-payment of property tax.
The court adjourned the hearing to next week and ordered the defendant to submit a reply.
The two-bench judge of apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Anwer Zaheer Jamali conducted the hearing of the case.
The court observed that the action was not taken against MD, PTV over non-compliance of court order.
It is worth mentioning here that PTV is defaulter of Rs.500 million of CDA in property tax.
During the course of the hearing, the court was informed that despite court order, PTV was not paying property tax and prayed to initiate contempt of court proceeding against it.
The court on this issued a show cause notice to MD, PTV and adjourned the hearing to next week.
