Pakistan’s T20 captain Shahid Afridi hinted on Wednesday that he may be reconsidering his decision to retire after the World T20.

He said he’s under a lot of pressure from friends and family who believe “there is no need to retire from T20s”.

“For now, in truth, I am focusing only on the World Cup. That is a huge challenge for me.”

“First I want to see where Pakistan stand in the World Cup. Whether I am capable of taking the team forward on the back of my performances,” he said.

Afridi explained: “I want to check where I am standing myself … I can play cricket. But I would be able to tell things clearly after the World Twenty20.”

The World T20 is set to be held in India. It starts on March 8 with a qualifying round. The Super 10 rounds will commence from March 16.
