Atif Bajwa elected PBC Chairman

Bank Alfalah President and CEO Atif Aslam Bajwa was unanimously elected Chairman of the Pakistan Business Council (PBC) at the 54th meeting of the PBC Board.

The newly elected board also unanimously elected Lucky Cement CEO Muhammad Ali Tabba as Vice Chairman of PBC.

The new PBC Board which was elected earlier this month by its members reiterated its commitment to work with other stakeholders including the government, to improve the business environment in the country, said a press release issued on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion Atif Aslam Bajwa welcomed the newly elected directors and thanked them for reposing their trust in him and Muhammad Ali Tabba.

The board appreciated the services of the outgoing board chaired by Bashir Ali Mohammad, Chairman Gul Ahmed and noted with satisfaction the progress made during the three year tenure of the last board in furthering the PBC agenda.

Other members elected to the board included Descon Chairman Abdul Razak Dawood, Indus Motors Chairman Ali S Habib, Arif Habib Group Chairman Arif Habib, Colgate Palmolive Chairman Iqbal Ali Lakhani, HBL President & CEO Nauman Dar, former International Industries CEO Towfiq Chinoy, Gul Ahmed Chairman Bashir Ali Mohammad, Nestle Pakistan Chairman Syed Yawar Ali, National Foods CEO Abrar Hasan, EBM Chairperson Zeelaf Munir, G&T Director Shabbir Diwan, Unilever Pakistan CEO Shazia Syed and PBC CEO Ehsan A. Malik.

  1. Atif Bajwa is a typical product of PML N culture and has done wonders to damage the Branch Staff and interests of customers. The Executive Staff including himself have gone richer at the expense of the field staff. I was an account holder for years but then I left and moved to another bank. I had the privilege to see this Bank thriving when Mr Sirajuddin Aziz was the CEO.
