4 die in different road mishaps

At least four people were killed in different road mishaps in various areas of Punjab on Wednesday.

In Muzaffargarh, two people were burnt alive and one sustained injuries in a collision between oil tanker and trailer on MM Road here on Wednesday.

The oil tanker while overtaking a tractor-trolley collided with the trailer coming from the opposite direction. The tanker caught fire which also engulfed two other vehicles.

Rescue teams shifted the bodies and the injured to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, a motorbike rider died while two others were seriously injured when a tractor-trolley hit a motorcycle in Bhakkar.

Police said that an over-speeding tractor trolley knocked down a motorcycle carrying three people near Basti Mai Roshan in Bhakkar. One motorcyclist died on the spot while two others sustained critical wounds who were rushed to hospital for treatment.

The police after registering a case against driver of the tractor trolley have started raids for his arrest.

Moreover, a man was killed while three others were injured in a collision between passenger coach and tractor-trolley in Vehari. Police said that an over-speeding passenger coach hit a tractor trolley laden with construction material at Mailsi Road in Vehari, resulting in death of one person and leaving three others wounded.

The body and injured were shifted to the hospital. The enraged protestors held protest demonstration against the incident by blocking road and also pelted stones at passenger coach. A heavy contingent of police reached the scene and brought the situation under control.
