Lyari gangster confesses to killing locals, policemen

 

A nabbed target killer and a worker of gang war lord Rehman aka Khan Bhai on Monday made key revelations during investigations.

The suspect claimed to have killed people for not paying extortion money. He also disclosed that the reason behind clashes between gangsters in Lyari was drug business.

The criminal also confessed to have killed security personnel on directives of his commanders.

He said that several citizens were murdered during racial riots in 2012 and their bodies were drowned in the canals. The suspect said that he went abroad after the boom in Karachi operation and came back a few days ago, but got captured by a police team.

A senior police official said that Karachi operation launched by the government was giving positive outcomes as dozens of extortionists, target killers and terrorists had been arrested.

Meanwhile, local police apprehended a man said to be the accomplice of wanted criminal Mehfoozullah alias Bhalu involved in grenade attacks on police mobile units, incidents of extortion, robberies and attacks on media vans, early Monday morning.

The accused was arrested from Katti Pahari area of Orangi Town a tip-off. According to police sources, the accused had been on the run since Bhalu was killed.
