A key operative of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) was apprehended from Punjab province’s Dera Ghazi Khan city on Monday.
Security officials said LeJ operative Asif Chotu, who carried a head money of Rs 2.5 million, was arrested during a search operation in DG Khan.
He was wanted by police in the Justice Baqar Maqbool attack case and for other heinous crimes.
In June 2013, at least 15 people were killed and scores of others wounded when a powerful bomb hit a convoy of Justice Baqar Maqbool, the then Sindh High Court chief justice, in Karachi.
The banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi had claimed the responsibility for the attack. The judge miraculously survived the bombing, but his driver and eight security personnel escorting him died in the attack.
