The report of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on the Baldia town factory fire incident released on Monday suggests that the anti-terror act be included in the ongoing investigation of the case.
According to a private news channel, the report mentioned that the perpetrators had demanded Rs 20 million in extortion but this fact had been neglected in the First Information Report (FIR) of the incident. The JIT report suggested that all accused in the case should be tried under the anti-terrorism act and be nominated as the main perpetrators of the crime.
The JIT also proposed to nullify the passports of the fugitives and to include their names in the Exit Control List (ECL).
