A fire broke out at the back side of the Sindh Secretariat’s building here on Monday afternoon, creating panic among the employees.
Employees of the Sindh Secretariat came out of the offices amid panic. Two police mobiles and a fire tender rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire.
According to a firefighter, the fire erupted due to short-circuit in main electricity pole at the back side of the secretariat.
He said that earlier secretariat employees tried to extinguish the fire with water which caused small explosion in the power pylon. A fire tender controlled the fire within a short span of time.
Fortunately, no causality or injury to anyone was reported. However, the power pole was slightly damaged in the incident.
