36 suspects arrested in Karkhano market raid



Local police arrested 36 suspected persons, including illegal Afghan nationals, in a Monday morning search operation in Karkhano market.

Police officials said that all the suspects had been shifted to undisclosed location for further investigation. Heavy weapons and ammunitions were recovered from the suspects, they added.

The operation was conducted on information provided by intelligence agencies about presence of Taliban suspects in the area. All the entry and exit points had been closed during the search operation.

Meanwhile, Counter-Terrorism Police arrested a wanted terrorist, Chaman, a resident of Barshor Malakand. The arrested person was involved in terrorist activities in 2009 in Matta area and had killed a security official Belal Ghazi.
