Complaint cell to be setup for business community of capital, mayor-elect assures traders

 

Newly elected Mayor of Islamabad, Sheikh Ansar Aziz has assured the business community of the federal capital that he will set up a complaint cell for registering complaints of the business community.

Ansar said he will look into their demands and remove their grievances soon after he takes the oath of his office. He was talking to a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its President Atif Ikram Sheikh which called on him here on Monday and congratulated him on being elected as the first Mayor of Islamabad.

The delegation apprised him of the main issues of business community and sought his support for resolving them.

Aziz thought that the business community of the capital played an important role in developing local economy and that measures would be taken to curb corruption and urged citizens play a role in discouraging corrupt practices while dealing with local organizations. He assured that after assuming office, he would pay visit to ICCI to listen to the issues of business community.

Atif Ikram Sheikh, president, ICCI assured the newly mayor of Islamabad that business community will extend all possible support to the local government in ICT for developing the federal capital on modern lines. He said markets, commercial centres and industrial areas in Islamabad needed up gradation and rehabilitation of basic infrastructure including roads, footpaths, parking facilities, water filtration plants and sewerage system and hoped that newly elected Mayor would play his role in resolving these issues.

He also invited Sheikh Ansar Aziz to visit ICCI for an interaction with business community and share his vision for the development of the federal capital. Sheikh Abdul Waheed Vice President and Khalid Mehmood Chaudhry, former Senior Vice President ICCI were also present at the occasion.
