The military high-ups have decided to launch an operation on a massive scale in Punjab, especially in southern part of the province.
The operation would be the part and parcel of the National Action Plan as the military leadership has reiterated its resolve to bring innovation and pace in operation against terrorists in Punjab.
In this connection, Inspector General of Police Punjab Mushtaq Ahmed Sukera and a senior provincial minister had a meeting with top army establishment in Rawalpindi.
On Saturday, both the provincial minister and police chief reached the Islamabad airport through a special plane and soon after their arrival they went to Rawalpindi for the meeting which continued for more than two hours and deliberated on security matters in Punjab at length.
According to official sources, both the provincial representatives briefed the military top brass about the measures taken so far by the Punjab Police in connection with the National Action Plan. Reports say it is most likely that operation is geared up in South Punjab where activists of banned outfits are hiding.
