LPG quota scam: NAB to launch investigation against JJVC management

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided in principal to start investigation against the owner of Jamshoro Joint Venture Company (JJVC) and renowned industrialist MZ Iqbal in corruption of Rs 34 billion in LPG quota scam.

The federal interior ministry has issued instructions to put the names of all accused of LPG quota case on Exit Control List (ECL) so that they can not flee from the country.

The sources told Online that M Z Iqbal had started Jamshoro Joint Venture Company during the regime of Pervez Musharraf with the undue-facilitation of some corrupt officers of OGDCL, Sui Southern Gas Pipelines and the ministry of petroleum.

The JJVC project was buying natural gas from different gas fields at very stumpy prices and manufacturing LPG from it which was sold at very high cost. By virtue of this project, a reference has also been filed by the NAB to recover Rs 10 billion against former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain. According to the NAB’s top brass, the other accused of the LPG quota scandal are former minister for petroleum Aman Ullah Khan Jadoon, ex secretaries petroleum Abdullah Yousaf , Kamran Lashari and Tariq Khan who would also be questioned during investigation.
