RDA launches operation against illegally constructed houses

The Rawalpindi Development Authority has launched an operation against encroachments and illegally constructed buildings in the city, by razing to ground some 11 buildings built in the area surrounding the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench which were built without any approved map.

The RDA officials led by Directorate Enforcement Jamsheed Aftab initiated the operation on the directive of acting RDA Director General Sajid Dal using heavy machinery.

The residents of illegally constructed bulinding resisted the operation, however, the RDA officials carried out razing down the structures.

Meanwhile, the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) sealed an illegally built hospital on Peshawar Road.

The Land Branch of RCB, meanwhile, issued notices to 80 owners of houses in Naseerabad, Awan Town, Qasimabad, Saddar, Quaid-e-Azam Colony, Chamanabad, Marble Factory area, Dhoke Mustaqeem, Illahabad and Banaras Colony for carrying out illegal constructions.
