We the residents of Iqbal Town, Rawalpindi, want to draw the kind attention of Chief Minister of Punjab through your esteemed newspapers. There is no water supply in Iqbal Town for the last more than six weeks.
The WASA phone numbers 1334 and 4456628 are dead phones and WASA complaint centres are not listening and attending genuine complaints of WASA consumers.
First it was told by the WASA to residents of the Iqbal Town that cleaning work of Khan Pur dam is under going
And now it is said by WASA that repairing of water pipelines is under progress but this water pipelines repair work is going very slowly at sites and it seems that this repair work will continue till the end of this year.
Similarly, WASA has not made any alternate action to restore water supply for the residents of the town.
WASA is not selling water tankers on approved rates of WASA which is Rs 100 per tanker; instead it is now charging Rs 1000-1400 per tanker. Similarly, WASA has never delivered any cash memo/receipt to WASA consumers on purchasing water tanker of WASA.
Hence we the residents of Iqbal Town are in a trouble and we are being forced to purchase water tanker much higher rates.
Hence we the residents of Iqbal Town request the Chief Minister of Punjab to kindly restore water supply to the town and please take action against WASA officials at fault.
