What an imaginative and truthful way of describing PML-N.
I remember Nawaz Sharif ‘s previous tenure when he had opened accounts at banks, locally and overseas, asking Pakistanis to deposit donations into these, under the scheme described as :
Qarz Chukao, Mulk Bachao
And
Qarz utaro, Mulk Sanwaro
The above slogans, coming from Nawaz Sharif, would mean that he firmly believed that excessive loan burden was a threat to the country. And this was right because loans do not come for free, and have to be repaid, along with interest, which create extra burden on the country’s meagre revenues, especially when the loan amounts are not invested in revenue-producing/enhancing projects.
And there were reports of bungling in disposing off the amounts thus collected, but, well, well.
And now, taking a 180-degree turn, the same Nawaz Sharif is busy, burdening the country with lots and lots of loans, and spending these on projects at costs massively inflated by the in-built commissions, and with little revenue-earning capacity to enable easy repayment.
And I wonder what would he call this scheme:
Qarz Barhao, Mulk Dubao sheme ?
I suppose it is about time someone restrained him, but who will do that?
With Sharifs all around, and in influential positions, they just seem to be busy, complementing each other.
