A child was wounded when unidentified armed men opened fire at a government school in Darkali Syedan area of Gujar Khan on Thursday morning.
The assailants fled the scene after committing the crime.
The school was immediately evacuated after the incident as a heavy contingent of police cordoned off the area.
The injured child was shifted to a hospital.
Police officials said the incident took place due to old rivalry between the two groups. Further investigation is underway.
