Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah on Thursday complained that the government had called a session on the opposition’s call, but wrapped up the discussion in its absence.
Shah resented government’s acts while addressing lawmakers in the House during a session called by Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi.
Shah warned the government it would get to know what opposition actually was if it launched a protest outside the House. He said that unfortunately federal ministers on one hand scored political points while on other hand they abused their status.
Shah had on Wednesday offered opposition’s support to Prime Minister Sharif in case there was a threat to democracy.
Commenting on Sharif’s recent statement in which he complained about less control over state affairs compared to his 1991 government, the opposition leader said that the prime minister should have made these comments in parliament.
