The inauguration of much-awaited Lahore Literature Festival has been postponed for a day for security reasons. The event will now kick off from February 20 (Saturday).
According to LLF organisers, the decision to delay inauguration of the event has been taken after issuance of security advisory by the Punjab government.
The session of the opening day of LLF had 24 sessions to be addressed by known local and foreign scholars.
The City District Government Lahore had earlier cancelled the NOC issued for LLF on the basis of security concerns.
The DCO Lahore had also forwarded a letter to the organisers urging them to postpone the event. However after talks, the notification was re-issued allowing the event to take place for just two days.
