A platoon of Frontier Corps (FC) on Wednesday took charge to guard Bacha Khan University (BKU) which reopened on Monday after 26 days of the terror attack that claimed at least 21 lives.

The administration took the services of the Frontier Corps to better construct a foolproof security plan to prevent anything in the future. The contingent has been deployed at the university’s boundaries. An ex-colonel of the army is supposed to monitor the personnel and keep a check on the arrangements at all times.

Another eight elite force personnel have been handed over permanent duties at the premises.

After the attack on the university on January 20, Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak had demanded the federation to turn back FC contingents to the province to counter untoward incidents.

It was not the first time that the provincial government had voiced need of extra security measures to protect government installments and lives of the locals. CM Khattak had aksi demanded the federal government several times earlier.
