Two incidents involving violence against polio workers were reported here on Wednesday.
In the first incident, a polio worker, namely Umer Khan, along with his colleague was vaccinating children in Rajgarh area near Chauburji when an unidentified motorcyclist stopped him and opened fire at him after exchanging hot words with him. Khan was hit by a bullet in his leg. The attacker however fled the crime scene. The injured vaccinator was shifted to Mayo Hospital for treatment. DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said that an investigation had been launched into the attack.
Separately, a local namely Shakeel entered into a verbal duel with a polio worker. Police took the man into custody and launched a probe.
