A teacher of girls’ school in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has written a letter to Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, expressing surprise and resentment over the government’s slackness and local police for handing out a list of security measures to the school to implement on immediate basis.
In a letter, teacher Naseema Shah said that the station house officer (SHO) had arrived at the school and laid out few security measures that should be adopted by the school. “In case of non-compliance, action would be taken against the school administration.”
The security measures include installation of CCTV cameras, boundary wall construction, security bunker, biometric system and hiring of more security guards.
She took exception to the directions of the local SHO and asked the chief minister not to force teachers to quit their jobs.
The teacher said “government should be ashamed of insisting a female teacher to take such measures, which is actually a responsibility of the government.”
This is a joke of the century, said the teacher.
Shah ended the letter with a message “shame on you all!”
