Sufism the key to ending extremism in society: minister

Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Amin-ul-Hasnat Shah on Monday said extremism and sectarianism could be eliminated by following the teachings of Sufi like Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam (RA).

Addressing the concluding session of 700 celebrations of Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam, he said Shah Rukn-e-Alam was a gret Sufi as hundreds of his pupils did preach Islam across the globe.

The 700 celebrations of Sufi saint were organised by Archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan. Renowned Ulema and Mashaikh participated in the ceremony.

Chairman Archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan Dr Ghazanfar Mehdi presented the book comprising the proceedings of International Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam Conference, held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

He said on the recommendation of the participants of the conference and International Institute of Sufism has been set up in which all leading scholars of the Sufism have been included in the Board of Governors (BoG).

Iranian Cultural Counselor Shahbuddin Darai said that Persian institute of Iran has published the ‘Asar-e-Ahwal-e-Bahauddin Zakria, grandfather of Shah Rukn-e-Alam.
