Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad on Saturday dismissed the existence of Daesh, the so called Islamic State (IS) terrorist group in Karachi.
Speaking to media personnel, Governor Ebad said the group had no organisational setup in Karachi.
“Existing banned terrorist outfits are trying to associate themselves with Daesh,” he said, adding that IS was a new phenomenon and had no organised presence in the Sindh provincial capital.
He further said that the nexus of various terror outfits had already been busted in Karachi.
His remarks came hours after Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also brushed aside apprehensions about the large scale presence of Daesh in Pakistan.
