As the majority of newly-elected representatives of local government elections in Punjab have joined Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the ruling party will easily win reserve seats across the province.
The independent representatives had emerged as a major force in LG elections.
The PML-N had won 3,200 seats of chairman, vice chairman and councilors while the independent candidates stood at number two obtaining 2,991 seats.
According to Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, around 2,900 elected independent representatives have joined the ruling party.
