Gunmen attack FC convoy in Turbat; four officials wounded

Four security personnel were injured when armed attackers opened fire at a Frontier Corps convoy in Turbat district on Sunday.

According to details, an FC caravan was heading towards a free medical camp when unidentified attackers opened fire on it near Tump area some 90 kilometres west of Turbat. As a result, four FC men sustained gunshot wounds.

The attackers then ran to their hideout in nearby mountainous area. However, the FC men destroyed their hideout and seized a motorcycle and other goods.

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, while condemning the attack, expressed grief over injuries to the security officials.

“We are facing big challenge of terrorism and our security forces are facing this challenge with great success and are standing like rock before terrorists,” said Zehri.

He said that for complete elimination of terrorism and for peaceful Balochistan, political and military leadership had complete harmony and civil and military institutions were jointly taking full actions against terrorists.

The chief minister reiterated commitment that action would continue till end of last terrorist from the province. “Security agencies would continue to enjoy support and full backing of the government and people,” Zehri said and prayed for early recovery of the wounded FC men.

  1. Situation is really serious in Pakistan. World community, including IMF, should support Pakistan by financing them to purchase at least 100 advance F-16 Fighter Aircrafts so that nation can save itself!
