Two more persons, who were injured in the LPG tanker-car collision near Sheikhupura on Wednesday, succumbed to their injuries on Sunday, raising the death toll to 16.
The tanker carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) had rammed into the car and the gas leakage fuelled an inferno engulfing the vehicles and nearby buildings near Sheikhupura’s Mananwala area. Two rickshaws with schoolchildren aboard had also caught fire. Some 14 persons were killed and about 11 were injured, who were admitted to Allied Hospital Faisalabad.
Two of the injured women namely Safia, 501, and Anam, 18, succumbed to their injuries on Sunday.
