Rashid blames AJK prime minister for inciting violence

Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid blamed Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majid for the violence in Kotli which left two workers of the rival political party dead.

Rashid said that if the AJK PM avoided talking about dead bodies of PML-N ministers, the violence might not have happened.

Rashid called upon all political parties to evolve a code of conduct to ensure peace during elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that Ch Abdul Majid did not tell the facts even to Bilawal Bhutto. He said that they had set up a judicial commission to investigate the issue, but meanwhile all the parties should follow the code of ethics.

Talking to newsmen on Saturday evening, he said that peaceful atmosphere could be maintained by avoiding negative slogans.

He regretted that the Azad Kashmir prime minister had recently used language that amounted to encouraging violence.

To a question, he said Imran Khan had taken a U-turn on the issue of hereditary politics with the joining of PTI by Hamid Nasir Chattha.

To another question, the information minister said the government is committed to eliminating terrorism from all over the country.
