Society based on tolerance, moderation govt’s mission: CM

American Consul General Zachary Harkenrider called on Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Saturday. Matters of mutual interest, promotion of bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in various sectors particularly energy sector were discussed during the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Sharif said that the friendship of Pakistan and America is based on multidimensional relations and increasing cooperation of America in energy sector of Pakistan is commendable. He said economy of Pakistan is progressing speedily due to which energy requirements are also increasing. Referring to Pak-America relations, the chief minister said that Pakistan and America are partners of each other in promoting tolerance, patience and forbearance and both the countries have common approach in this regard. He said that setting up of a society based on tolerance, moderation and patience is our mission and this great objective of Quaid-e-Azam will certainly be achieved. Shehbaz Sharif said that we are determined to make Pakistan a welfare state in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and a welfare state can only be established by promoting tolerance, patience and moderation in accordance with the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam. He said there is no room for terrorism and extremism in Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The chief minister said that the entire nation is united for ridding Pakistan of the menace of terrorism and those targeting innocent people of terrorism are enemy of humanity and deserve no leniency.

He said that terrorists are open enemy of the entire humanity. He said that people of Pakistan have rendered great sacrifices in the war against terrorism. Sharif said that we highly value the increasing American cooperation in energy sector and expressed the hope that mutual relations between both the countries will further strengthen in the coming days. American Consul General Zachary Harkenrider, talking on the occasion, said that the sacrifices of Pakistan in the war against terrorism cannot be forgotten. He said that Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif is serving the people diligently and his performance is laudable.

 

Shehbaz takes notice of Basant festivities: Chief Minister Shabbaz Sharif on Saturday took strong notice of kite flying and Basant celebrations in different cities of the province and directed authorities concerned to take action against those violating the ban.

The chief minister has sought report from police and local administration over the violation of ban on Basant festivities and kite flying.

In his directive, he said violation of ban on kite flying would not be tolerated. He directed the officials to take action against the violators without any discrimination.
