Court reserves verdict on Musharraf’s exemption plea in Rashid Ghazi murder case

The Additional and Sessions court on Saturday reserved its decision on the plea of former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf seeking permanent exemption from appearing in Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case.

Additional and Sessions Judge Pervez Al Qadir Memon resumed the hearing of petition filed by Malik Tahir, counsel for Musharraf. Both the parties concluded arguments on the issue and the judge reserved the decision till February 20.

During the proceedings, Tariq Asad, lawyer for Lal Masjid, told the court that he wanted to present a CD on Pervez Musharraf before the court. Malik Tahir advocate raised an objection to this and questioned if a law existed that allowed Tariq Asad to present a CD in the court against his client.
