Rs 60 billion issued for rehabilitation of IDPs in seven months

The Federal Government has released Rs 60 billion for security and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and 46 per cent of the budget reserved for development projects in tribal areas in first seven months of current fiscal year.

According to the planning commission, Rs 320 billion out of total Rs 700 billion reserved for different development projects were issued in the first seven months of fiscal year (FY) 2015-16.

Some Rs 60 billion was released for the rehabilitation of IDPs, Rs 35 billion for the construction of roads and Rs 74 billion for the energy sector since beginning of the fiscal year, it said.

Funds for Rs 105 billion were released for different ministries from July 2015 to January.
