PM Modi’s wife denied passport over lack of marriage documents

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wife filed an RTI application on Thursday to obtain information regarding her marriage documents after her passport application was rejected over lack of supporting documents.

Jashodaben made the application to the Regional Passport Office (RPO) seeking information about the documents her husband, PM Modi used to get his passport when he had served as Chief Minister of Gujrat. RPO has stated that they will respond to her application soon.

According the passport office, her previous attempt to obtain a passport had been rejected because she was unable to produce a marriage certificate or a joint affidavit to prove that she and PM Modi are in fact married.
