Pakistan attaches great importance to ties with Japan: PM

Outgoing Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Inomata Friday paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here at PM House.

The PM appreciated the ambassador’s contribution in further strengthening the bilateral ties between Pakistan and Japan and said that Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with Japan, said a PM House press release.

Hiroshi Inomata, while expressing satisfaction at the state of current bilateral relations between the two countries, said that Pakistan had performed extraordinarily in the domain of foreign policy besides impressive economic performance.

Encouraged by the economic turnaround achieved by Pakistan, significant number of investors were now preparing to explore business opportunities in Pakistan, he said.

Hiroshi Inomata said that Pakistan’s efforts towards reaching out to its neighbouring countries were highly commendable.

He said that it had been a great honour to be the Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan and expressed his gratitude for the cooperation and valuable support extended to him by the government of Pakistan throughout his tenure.

Meanwhile, outgoing Japanese ambassador Hiroshi Inomata also paid a farewell call on President Mamnoon Hussain. During the meeting, the president said that Pakistan welcomes Japanese investments in diverse fields especially in energy sector. The president expressed hope that Japan should complete Karachi Circular Railway Project. He also appreciated the ambassador’s contribution in further strengthening bilateral relations.
