Provincial Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed ud Din has said that government is taking a number of steps for the economic self-reliance of women.
Talking to a delegation of women assembly members, Hameeda said that unprecedented measures have been taken by the government under Women Packages-2012 and 2014 for economic self-reliance and protection of women. She said that women empowerment has also been focused under Women Package-2016 and due attention is being paid under this package to the progress of rural women along with those of urban areas. She said that besides education, women could also learn different skills and earn their living in a respectable manner. Hameeda Din said that women of urban areas could learn kitchen gardening while those of rural areas, besides cattle farming, could also learn handicrafts. The minister stressed upon women to fully benefit from the steps taken by the government for their betterment and play their due role for national development.
